Winter activities
Skiing
Our holiday apartments offer direct access to 104 km of ski slopes. The ski school and ski rental are just 200 meters away. A snow garden right in front of the house near the chapel is perfect for families with children. Other highlights include moonlight dining with a torchlit descent from the Bettmerhorn and atmospheric night skiing at the Blausee lift.
Winter Hiking
The Aletsch Arena offers peaceful snowy landscapes and stunning views of the Aletsch Glacier and the Valais four-thousanders during winter. Away from the ski slopes, a variety of winter hiking trails invite you to explore – from the easy circular route around Lake Bettmersee to panoramic paths like Bettmeralp–Riederalp, and the impressive tour from Moosfluh into the Aletsch Forest.
Cross-Country Skiing
Cross-country skiing in the Aletsch Arena means perfectly groomed trails at over 2,000 meters – free of charge and in top condition. Around 7 km of high-altitude trails await you on the Bettmeralp, Riederalp, and in the Fieschertal – ideal for both classic and skating styles, whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier. Equipment is available for rent on site. For even more variety, a trip to nearby Goms is well worth it – with over 100 km of trails to explore.
Guided Ski Tours
Guided ski tours in the Aletsch Arena offer unforgettable summit experiences at over 2,000 meters. Accompanied by experienced mountain guides, you’ll safely ascend to breathtaking viewpoints and enjoy descents through untouched powder snow – all set against the majestic backdrop of the Valais four-thousanders.
Sledding
On the Bettmeralp, a gentle sledding hill near the Maria zum Schnee chapel invites you to enjoy a relaxed ride through the snow. For more action, try the 5 km sledding run from Moosfluh, offering stunning views of the Aletsch Glacier. Families will love the 200-meter snowtubing slope near the Bettmerhitta. With a bit of luck, it’s even possible to sled all the way down to Betten village.
Other Activities
The Bachtla Sports Center offers an indoor pool, sauna, fitness area, and the Gletschiland indoor playground. In Fiesch, you'll find tennis, squash, and climbing halls, along with a wide range of fitness and wellness options. On the natural ice rink in Bettmeralp, you can go ice skating or try your hand at Bavarian curling. For relaxation, the Brigerbad thermal spa features thermal pools, saunas, and a giant slide – perfect in any weather.
